Queen Of The Damned.

November to December, 2000 CE.

Melbourne, Australia.

The filming of the Warners Brothers movie "Queen Of The Damned" took place in Melbourne, Australia, from October to December, 2000. This is the movie sequel to the Anne Rice novel "Interview With A Vampire."
I was amongst 300 lucky goths and punks to be asked to participate in the movie as a paid extra. For two weeks we worked hard, 14 hours a day -- or night, as the case may be-- but at the end of it all, we agreed it was worth the hard effort simply to see what goes on behind the scenes of a movie, and also to take the great opportunity to meet other like-minded people in such a good atmosphere.

My first weeek on the set was at the Werribee Quarry where the "Lestat Death Valley Concert" was set up. This week I was required from 6pm till 6am, working all night in the freezing temperatures of around 2C.
The second week was at the studio in St. Albans. I would get up at 4am to be at the set by 6am and work all day (till around 7pm) in the old Nestle Chocolate Factory which had been renovated into the studio and contained many sets inside, such as an identical set of the Death Valley concert.

Although exhausting -- I am definately not a good early morning person -- it was well worth it!
Below are a few pictures I took, however cameras were not permitted at the set, so I was unable to take any more. I will link other QOTD sites to this site as I come across them.

If you have a site with pictures taken on or near the set, please email me with your web site and I will happily create a link.
